NCSoft and Smilegate shift global game services to in-house operation

NCSoft plans to move the global service for Throne and Liberty to an in-house operating system, keeping player data and digital assets intact, including characters, progress, inventory and Lucent currency. The company aims to improve developer-user communication and cut delays between South Korean and Western content. The shift ends Amazon Games publishing for the title, and Smilegate plans direct operation of Lost Ark for Western players from early 2027.
