Naver Invests in Oregon Startup Developing Wave-Powered Floating Data Centers
Naver said it invested in the Oregon-based startup Panthalassa, which builds autonomous floating data centers powered by waves to run AI workloads at sea. Results are sent back to land via low-earth-orbit satellite links. Panthalassa plans a demonstration of its wave-powered platform this year and aims to commercialize it by 2027, with Naver not disclosing investment details.
