Musk Pushes SpaceX to Bring Casting In-House, Hitting GE Vernova Bottleneck

Musk confirmed on X that SpaceX is bringing the casting process in-house, saying it could accelerate natural-gas turbines by up to 18 months. GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik said GE had to push suppliers for added castings and forgings, and that ramping to 24 GW of annual output in 2028 depends on additional parts arriving in 2027. With SpaceX targeting the same upstream casting constraints, deliveries for new turbines may stay pressured.
