Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas approved MUFG Bank’s Manila Branch to operate as a universal bank, issuing the Certificate of Authority under Monetary Board Resolution No. 438. The BSP upgraded the branch’s license from commercial to universal under the same corporate name, following Monetary Board approval on May 21 and starting universal-bank operations on Sept. 1.
