MTN Group received Nigerian regulatory clearance to buy the remaining stake in IHS Towers for about $2.2bn, valuing IHS Towers at roughly $6.2bn. Approval is conditional on selling 30% of IHS Nigeria to local investors, capping MTN’s control over tower infrastructure used beyond MTN. MTN also reported heavier network investment in Nigeria than South Africa in H1 2026.
