MTN’s MoMo mobile money service, launched in Uganda in 2007 and now operating across 16 African markets, is being migrated from a legacy virtualized setup to a standardized cloud-native architecture with Ericsson support. The MoMo Evolved Migration is expected to improve performance and resilience and speed delivery of digital financial services for consumers, merchants and partners, starting with Eswatini, Ghana, Rwanda and Uganda.
