MTN Fintech Transactions Hit $330 Billion in First Half 2026
Fintech activity for MTN Group surged in the first half of 2026, with transaction values rising by more than a third to $330bn. Active agents climbed to 1.4m and active merchants to 2.3m. Service revenue grew 17.8% and advanced services revenue 31.8%, lifting advanced services to 37.4% of MoMo revenue. Growth was partly tempered by airtime-advance suspension in Nigeria and Uganda agent disruptions, while MTN also launched a share buyback.
