Mistral AI has secured a record €3 billion in a Samsung-led funding round, nearly doubling its valuation to €11.7 billion after a €1.7 billion Series C. It plans to boost owned compute, investing €4 billion in data centres across France and Europe and aiming for about 100% more compute over five years, supported by Microsoft capacity. Europe still lags, while AI Act high-risk rules land in December 2027 and August 2028.
