Minnesota PUC Approves $211M Xcel Rate Increase, Lifting Authorized ROE
Minnesota regulators approved an estimated $211 million increase for Xcel Energy electric rates, including a jump in authorized return on equity from 9.25% to 9.6%. Consumer groups warned the change could cost customers about $34 million to $35 million per year and submitted 8,600 comments; Xcel also disconnected 52,549 customers in 2024, a record.
