Minister Defends Singapore Airlines’ Air India Stake as Scrutiny Continues
In parliament, minister Jeffrey Siow defended Singapore Airlines’ stake in Air India, saying the carrier is listed and has funded investments from its own balance sheet without seeking more capital from shareholders. Temasek is the majority owner. Air India is seeking about US$1.5 billion in fresh equity from Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, with value assessed for the airline and its shareholders.
