During exercise Valiant Shield 2026, the military used the Digital Manufacturing Exchange to let Marines produce parts using intellectual property Oshkosh Defense agreed to transfer. Japanese manufacturer MadeHere K.K. made the components based on schematics shipped across Japan. Officials said defense firms will be compensated through DMX, though Oshkosh Defense declined to share cost details.
