Microsoft Fabric enters US federal cloud tier with GA from 1 October

Microsoft has launched its Fabric data platform in Government Community Cloud High on public preview, with general availability from 1 October, targeting agentic AI workloads. Europe lacks an equivalent accredited tier because its cloud certification scheme has stalled. Microsoft’s France legal director told a Senate inquiry in July 2025 it cannot guarantee French public-contract data won’t be reached by US authorities. A €180M sovereign cloud contract was awarded in April without excluding American technology.
