Microsoft AI released MAI-Transcribe-2, saying it is faster, more accurate, and cheaper than OpenAI, Google, or ElevenLabs models. It’s priced at 10 cents per hour of audio, down from $0.36 per hour for MAI-Transcribe-1.5. The model transcribes 60 languages and cites benchmark results including a 5.2% word error rate on FLEURS and a second-place Artificial Analysis accuracy-latency ranking.
