Michigan Gets $171M From Meta Settlement on Addictive Features
Meta reached a settlement with Michigan and 33 other state attorneys general over allegations that its Instagram and other features were designed to be addictive, exposing young users to serious mental harms while Meta allegedly withheld information about underage accounts and platform safety. The deal sets new limits for children and also resolves claims about Meta sharing nonpublic Facebook user data with third parties, including Cambridge Analytica.
