Metro Weather raises ¥1.5B Series B with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Metro Weather, a Kyoto University spin-off, raised ¥1.5 billion in the first close of its Series B, including a third-party share allotment to Incubate Fund and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The company is developing Doppler Lidar wind-measurement devices and systems to visualize and forecast wind, enabling Object Detection Lidar to identify suspicious drones. It plans civilian use to protect airports and power plants, after a ¥850 million pre-Series B and an alliance with Tokyo Keiki.
