Meta’s blockbuster settlement with 47 states over teens’ use of its platforms prompted the company to say it will record roughly $10 billion in legal expenses in the third quarter. Meta also agreed to pay an additional $5 billion if Snap, TikTok and YouTube pay similar penalties and make comparable product changes, plus a separate $1 billion settlement with Texas.
