Meta Undercuts Anthropic and OpenAI With New Muse Code Pricing

On Aug. 5, Meta Platforms launched Muse Code, an AI coding agent for developers, pricing it below Anthropic’s Claude Code Opus 5 and OpenAI’s Codex. It has a Muse Spark-matching tier and a 20 cents per million output tokens tier for users willing to share feedback. Meta reports the agent ranked second on Terminal-Bench 2.1, and says a prior vulnerability exploit in another firm’s system was contained despite renewed AI safety questions.
