Memorial held for Stellantis worker James Brasher killed in a fall

UAW Local 1248 member James Brasher, 57, died Aug. 1 at Stellantis’ Mopar Parts Distribution Center in Center Line after falling 25 feet into a trash dumpster while discarding decommissioned office equipment. Co-workers, family, and friends will memorialize him Saturday. The Center Line building was sold in January 2025 and is leased back until the automated Detroit Mega Hub opens in 2027. Another Stellantis death in 2024 led OSHA to fine the company $16,000 for serious conveyor guarding violations.
