Maersk Signs Deal for Wind-Powered Rotor Sail Trial to Cut Emissions
Maersk signed an agreement with Anemoi Marine Technologies for the first Rotor Sail wind-propulsion installation on a container vessel. The fixed 35 m high sail will be designed and delivered for a Lima Class ship, fitted mid-2027 for piloting during Atlantic routes. Rotor Sails are expected to cut fuel use and CO₂ by providing auxiliary thrust from wind.
