AP Moller-Maersk Line has expressed interest in directly investing in Bangladesh’s shipbuilding and discussed potential investment in its ship recycling sector. The proposal was raised in a meeting with Bangladesh’s Commerce Minister and Denmark’s ambassador in Dhaka, where officials highlighted Bangladesh’s capacity for environmentally sound, internationally compliant recycling and said more global participation could bring capital, technology, and skills.
