Former Lyft drivers are shifting from ride-hailing to robotaxi support as Lyft’s flexdrive subsidiary plans to open its largest Nashville cleaning and maintenance depot in October for Waymo. The facility will employ about 70 full-time workers, around half formerly drove for Lyft. A former driver now helps manage robotaxi traffic and decide when cars are ready for passengers.
