Lyft’s Flexdrive unit in Nashville plans to open its largest vehicle cleaning and maintenance depot in October to support Waymo robotaxis. After Lyft took over the Nashville depot in June, a Waymo fleet lead directs robotaxi traffic and helps decide whether cars are ready to return to passengers. The depot will employ 70 people who visually inspect vehicles, clean and charge them, and flag issues.
