After years of delay, a Louisiana jury found Johnson & Johnson responsible for asbestos exposure that led to New Orleans resident Lynne Roy’s fatal mesothelioma, awarding her survivors $10 million. The three-week trial ended after four hours of deliberation, with J&J’s share set just over $1.2 million and co-defendants also found liable. Bankruptcy proceedings initiated by J&J delayed the case by about six years, in part by putting a hold on asbestos litigation.
