Eli Lilly and Merida Biosciences announced a definitive agreement for Lilly to acquire Merida. Merida is developing engineered biologics designed to selectively degrade pathogenic autoantibodies driving Graves disease and thyroid eye disease. Its lead program, MER511, is in Phase 1 and aims to eliminate disease-causing autoantibodies while preserving normal immune function, with initial data suggesting improved efficacy and safety.
