Libya’s National Oil Corporation signed an oil exploration and development agreement with Chevron for a block awarded in a February 2025 tender. The deal is meant to boost production toward 2 million barrels per day and support government revenues, amid Libya’s long-running political fragmentation and past disputes that have disrupted output.
