LG Energy Solution began production at its new Lansing, Michigan battery facility on Aug. 18, manufacturing EV batteries and lithium-iron phosphate cells for energy storage systems. The company says it has invested more than $2 billion since 2022 and expects up to 1,700 jobs, strengthening Michigan’s manufacturing base and domestic capacity.
