LG Energy Solution began production at its new 226-acre Michigan-Lansing battery facility in Lansing. The site will make large-format cells for energy storage systems and electric vehicles, including more energy-dense nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells for Toyota. The company says it has invested over $2 billion since 2022 and now employs about 900 workers, expanding Michigan’s manufacturing base.
