LG Energy Solution Starts EV and ESS Battery Production in Lansing, Michigan
LG Energy Solution (LGES) has begun production at its 226-acre Lansing, Michigan battery plant, expanding capacity for EV and grid-scale energy storage. The facility makes LFP cells for ESS via LGES Vertech and NMC cells for EVs, with utilities such as DTE Energy planning future projects. LGES has invested over $2bn; about 900 people work there, rising to 1,700 after a January suspension that laid off around 1,400.
