LG Energy Solution Starts Battery Cell Production in Lansing for Grid Storage and EVs
LG Energy Solution began production at a 226-acre battery plant in Lansing, Michigan, making large-format cells for energy storage systems and electric vehicles. The facility targets 35 GWh per year at full scale, producing lithium-iron phosphate for stationary storage and nickel-manganese-cobalt for vehicles. Vertech integrates the cells into grid and utility ESS projects, while Toyota plans to use them in future EVs.
