LG Energy Solution will source 8,000 metric tonnes of battery-quality lithium carbonate annually for 10 years under a binding offtake agreement with Smackover Lithium. The material will come from the South West Arkansas project in Arkansas, using a direct lithium extraction process aimed at more sustainable sourcing and meeting non-PFE requirements for key cathode production.
