LG Energy Solution Opens Lansing Battery Plant for Toyota and Storage
LG Energy Solution opened its Lansing battery plant without General Motors, focusing on energy storage systems and Toyota. The 226-acre site will make NMC cells for the 2027 Highlander EV and plans to shift to prismatic cell production next year while adding another automaker client. Nearby GM Lansing stamping facilities will close for Cadillac CT5 retooling, backed by $1B+ in Biden grants. LG has invested $5B in Michigan since 2010.
