LG Energy Solution develops core technology to stabilize LMR battery gas generation

LG Energy Solution announced on Sept. 7 that it developed core technology with Seoul National University to improve stability in LMR batteries by addressing gas generation during charging. By lowering the charging voltage limit from 4.6V to 4.3V, oxygen reduction rises to 97%, reducing internal pressure and the risk of structural damage or fire, supporting commercialization of large EV cells. Results were published in Nature Communications.
