LG Energy Solution Converts Capacity at Five US Plants to LFP Cells
LG Energy Solution has started converting part of the production capacity at five US EV battery plants to manufacture LFP cells for stationary energy storage, shifting some pouch-cell output from high-nickel NCM to LFP. The move supports EV and grid-scale storage, including its $1.6 billion deal to supply battery systems for DTE Energy projects in Michigan totaling 1.5 GW and 6 GWh, delivered over two years.
