LG Energy Solution and Seoul National University report joint research on lithium manganese-rich (LMR) batteries to suppress gas generation and capacity fade during charging and discharging. The team identified causes of oxygen-related damage and redesigned the operating voltage range and formation process for 40 Ah large-format cells, which retained 92.2% of initial energy after 883 cycles.
