Landstar System reduced its approved motor carrier network by about 35% over the past four years, dropping from more than 100,000 approved carriers in Q2 2022 to just over 64,000 by the end of Q2, removing over 35,000 carriers. Officials said the change is meant to tighten safety, security, and service as new information and technology emerge.
