Korea Zinc Cited as FAST-41 Model Case for $7.4B Tennessee Smelter
Korea Zinc’s large-scale integrated non-ferrous metal smelter project under construction in Tennessee is designated for the U.S. FAST-41 fast-track permitting process. The government’s integrated permitting management is expected to accelerate final permits by about 18 months, with the project also being the first led by a South Korean company. Shares jumped after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick singled it out as a model investment case.
