Korea Zinc adds semiconductor-grade sulfuric acid and eco copper expansion
Korea Zinc is shifting from a nonferrous metal smelter toward semiconductor and battery inputs by producing semiconductor-grade sulfuric acid and expanding eco-friendly copper and copper foil. At the Onsan smelter in Ulsan, it refined sulfur dioxide into >99.9999% acid and brought 21 production lines online, raising capacity to 320,000 tons. The company supplies over 60% of Korea’s demand, with most sales to major domestic semiconductor makers.
