Klaus-Michael Kuehne, majority owner who built Kuehne + Nagel, dies
Klaus-Michael Kuehne, third-generation majority owner who expanded Kuehne + Nagel into a major sea and airfreight forwarder, has died. The company confirmed his death in Schindellegi near Zurich on Aug. 24. Under his leadership, the group grew to more than 1,300 offices and 88,000 staff worldwide, with profits soaring during COVID-19 supply disruptions. He also helped drive a 2008 bid for Hapag-Lloyd.
