Kia recalls 1,791 first-generation e-Niro EVs in Germany for fire risk

Kia is recalling 1,791 first-generation e-Niro vehicles in Germany to address inadequate monitoring logic in the battery management system that could raise fire risk. Dealers will update BMS software in about 30 minutes and inspect the high-voltage battery; damaged packs are replaced free of charge. Kia says no property damage or injuries have been reported, and the Niro EV second generation is unaffected.
