Kenya’s Competition Authority fined Carrefour KSh 1.1bn for separately abusing its superior bargaining power over two suppliers. The regulator ordered refunds of KSh 16.76mn in rebates and KSh 500,000 billed as marketing support tied to store openings and listing fees. It said Carrefour required free products, listing fees for new branches, and post employees to supermarket branches.
