Judge approves $11.5M settlement for Mexican engineers recruited for Kia work in Georgia
A federal judge approved an $11.5 million class action settlement for Mexican engineers recruited under false pretenses to work for Hyundai and Kia in Georgia. Plaintiffs said a bait-and-switch moved them to factory-floor duties and that they were threatened with deportation if they complained. The deal covers more than 600 TN visa holders and names Kia Georgia, Hyundai Mobis, SPJ Connect, and Allswell.
