JPS and New Fortress Energy are in arbitration over an alleged Montego Freeport fuel-supply breakdown, with combined claims of about US$40 million. Jamaica’s regulated fuel-cost pass-through means any higher fuel costs could flow into electricity light bills. NFE sold its Jamaican LNG terminal assets and a CHP plant to Excelerate for US$1.055 billion, closing May 14, 2025, and declined to comment while the dispute is before the panel.
