Johnson & Johnson Proposes $5.5B Talc Settlement to Resolve Ovarian Cancer Claims
Johnson & Johnson has proposed a $5.5 billion settlement to resolve tens of thousands of lawsuits alleging that its baby powder and other talc products cause ovarian cancer. The deal would cover about 76,000 claims but is not final, requiring acceptance by at least 95% of eligible claimants. The company ended fiscal Q2 2026 with about $21 billion in cash and securities.
