JD Sports cuts profit forecast after inflation hits trainer sales
JD Sports said inflation is squeezing shoppers, hitting sales of trainers and other footwear, especially with core young consumers. It reported weaker trading in the second quarter, with full-year pre-tax profits now expected at £700m to £800m versus a prior £750m to £850m. Like-for-like sales fell 3.1%, led by North America.
