IURC Reopens AES Indiana Rate Case Over Google Data Center, BlackRock Deal
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will reopen the AES Indiana rate case to consider new developments tied to a Google data center and a proposed AES acquisition by a BlackRock-led consortium. After approving a $71 million rate increase in June, the IURC granted rehearing to take more evidence. A coalition says AES downplayed the likelihood of the data center, which could shift AES’s cost and revenue assumptions and the future allocation of overhead among customers. The rehearing does not necessarily eliminate the prior increase.
