Israeli review of $4.2B ZIM sale postponed as agencies prepare to oppose
A meeting this week for eight Israeli government agencies to review Hapag-Lloyd’s proposed $4.2 billion acquisition of ZIM has been postponed by a month to September 9. Most agencies are expected to oppose the deal. Tzadok Radker of the Shipping and Ports Authority submitted a second opinion reiterating opposition, despite buyer commitments to spin off Zim Israel with 16 ships, 200 jobs, and a technology center.
