Instagram chief faces questions on teen safety feature adoption in trial

Jason Slothouber pressed Instagram head Adam Mosseri over the low teen adoption of the “take a break” feature. Instagram uses separate teen accounts launched in 2024 and made the feature the default setting. Mosseri said Meta improves many safety and well-being features over time. The federal trial in Oakland began last week and is set to last about six weeks, with prior testimony also including an earlier Los Angeles case where Meta and YouTube were found liable and a plaintiff received $6 million.
