Indiana Regulators to Rehear AES Rate Case After Commission Shakeup

During AES’s January hearings over Indiana rates, data center demand was discussed only as a hypothetical. In April, AES sought approval for projects to power the Monrovia data center, including new transmission lines and battery storage, with Google paying at least $300 million in fixed costs. On Sept. 2, regulators agreed to rehear the AES Indiana rate case and could reverse a $71 million increase, citing possible effects spilling in from the BlackRock acquisition.
