Indian authorities seize Mumbai stock faking PepsiCo expiry labels
Indian authorities raided an illegal Mumbai operation that faked expiry dates and nutritional information on food export products, including PepsiCo’s Lay’s. Investigators reported chemicals used to erase original dates and ingredient labels, plus machines to print and replace them. Nearly 5,000 cartons were seized, worth almost $80,000, and some packs showed a future manufacturing date of Oct 2, 2026.
