IBM’s 2026 Cost of a Data Breach report says India’s average data-breach cost reached a record ₹25.5 crore, up 15.9% from ₹22 crore. AI-driven attacks made up 26% of incidents, alongside phishing, drive-by compromises and supply-chain attacks. Financial services saw the highest losses at ₹40.9 crore. Security automation lowered average costs to ₹21.3 crore, and 73% of organizations plan higher security investments.
